A variety of attributes represented here as the position of corner forward becomes a spectrum rather than a binary role. Here are the nominees.
Alex Delargy - Ruairí Óg
Delargy's performances in maroon and white this season have earned him a county call up and the nippy corner forward is already making hay with two goals against Armagh in the Kehoe Cup.
He cemented his reputation as a fearsome attacker with a number of good performances in the Antrim SHC.
Paddy Cunningham - Lámh Dhearg
'Hands' continues to terrorise defences throughout Antrim with his score-taking ability from both frees and play.
His goal in the final replay with Portglenone sealed the tie while his point in the first replay was a thing of beauty. A crucial component in the Hannahstown attack.
John McGoldrick - Naomh Éanna
John McGoldrick's free-taking ability proved crucial to Naomh Éanna's success this season and the opposition had to be wary of giving away a free anywhere inside the opposition 45m line, such was his accuracy from distance.
His early goal in the Ulster IHC final ensured that Dungannon didn't have as big a cushion as they'd have liked after their early dominance.
Paul Gunning - Watty Graham's Glen
Gunning gives honest endeavour every time he steps on the pitch and his scoring ability was evident on more than one occasion.
His accuracy from frees gives Glen another option from dead ball situations and he has had a fine season.
Seamus McGarry - Naomh Séamas
McGarry proved the assassin in the Aldergrove attack as he demonstrated his array of finishing ability throughout the season, but his performance in the county final was inspirational.
Also Aldergrove's best performer in their Ulster IFC defeat to Naomh Náille with a number of neat finishes.
Brendan Rodgers - Roibeard Eméid Sleacht Néill
Rodgers' goal effectively ended the Kevin Lynch resistance in the Derry SHC final as he broke away to finish and prompt a late scoring spree.
Had his early shot saved in the final by a superb Ryan Elliott but his performances are yet another option in the Emmet's forward line for opposition to worry about.
Emmett McGuckin - O'Donovan Rossa Magherafelt
Named at corner forward, McGuckin played his football in the midfield area, attacking high balls and raiding forward from deep positions.
The Coleraine FC striker's accurate passes to inside forwards were crucial in allowing the Rossa cavalry time to arrive with perfect timing.
Conor McBride - Carey Faughs
The prodigious Faughs attacker announced his arrival in some style this season, including a superb performance in the Antrim IHC Semi-Final where he finished with an outstanding 2-06.
McBride hit a further 0-09 in the county final and his accuracy from frees and explosive attacking play will see him a marked man next season.
